Itinerary - Monarch Butterfly Sanctuary & Ixtapa

DAY 1 - Mexico City
At your arrival to Mexico City Airport greeting and transport to your hotel situated in the Historic District. Take the rest of the day to explore Mexico City's Zocalo. At this magnificent Main square you can visit the Cathedral, The National Palace with Diego Rivera's murals and the Templo Mayor archelogical remains and Museum. (Breakfast)

DAY 2 - Mexico City and Morelia
After three hours on the road we reach Morelia. This capital city of the state of Michoacan. Morelia has beautiful baroque building for the 17th Century. At your arrival transport to your hotel. Rest of the day is free to enjoy Morelia and explore. (Breakfast)

DAY 3 - Morelia and Pátzcuaro
On the way to Patzcuaro we'll stop in the town of Quiroga were all kinds of handcrafts are made before your eyes. We'll visit the archeological zone of Tzintzuntzan. Then a small boat ride to the island of Janitzio. Admire the fishermen in the lake using huge butterfly shape nets in the small boats. All this area is inhabited by Tarasco Indians one of Mexico's most industrious people. After Christianity arrived to the area the priest organized their talent teaching every town a diffent trade. Finally we arrive to Patzcuaro where we visit the House of the eleven patios, a Dominican convent from the 17th Century and Plaza Vasco de Quiroga. We return to Morelia at the end of the day. DAY 4 - Morelia and Monach Butterfly Sanctuary
This morning we leave early to arrive to the Monarch buttlerfly's Sanctuary. This small insects migrate every year from Canada to this warm region to scape Winter (Mid November to Mid March) After exploring the area we return to Morelia at the end of the day. (Breakfast)

DAY 5 - Morelia
Free day to discover this historic town, declared as Cultural Patrimony of Humanity by UNESCO. Don't miss Morealia's Cathedral and the public market where they sale traditional candies. (Breakfast)

DAY 6 - Morelia and Uruapan
Today will visit the National Park of Uruapan where you will enjoy beautiful fountains and magnificent cascades. Then we continue to Santa Clara del Cobre where you can admire the coppersmiths hammering copper at unison. In this town you'll find copper pots and pans that are a work of art. Then we'll enjoy the tranquility of lake Zirahuen. We return Morelia at the end of the day. (Breakfast)

DAY 7 - Morelia and Ixtapa
Early morning departure to your hotel in Ixtapa. Free time to expore this area and the towns of Ixtapa and Zihuatanejo. (Meals: All-inclusive Plan)

DAY 8 y 9 - Ixtapa - Zihuatanejo
Enjoy the Sun and the beaches of these two town at your leisure. Do as much or as little as you wish.

DAY 10 - Ixtapa
Transfer to the Airport to take your return flight home.
